Welcome to the 2017 BACHE Conference Registration Website!

We are delighted to confirm that the BACHE Annual Conference will be held on 18th - 20th June 2017 at Queens University Belfast

 

Programme

Sunday 18th June - Networking drinks, a great opportunity to get together and network ahead of the conference.

Monday 19th June - Full day conference with evening drinks reception and Gala dinner which will be held in Riddel Hall.

Tuesday 20th June - Half day conference concluding around lunchtime.

 

Travel to Belfast

We will ask for confirmation of proposed travel so that we can see what co-ordination we can arrange in regards to transfer.

By Air: Belfast is serviced by two airports, George Best Belfast City Airport, and Belfast International. Most flights to/from Belfast to the rest of the UK take less than an hour.

BELFAST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - located 13 miles northwest of Belfast.

Getting from the airport to the City

  • By Bus: The Airport Express Bus Service (Service 300) operates a regular service on weekdays and weekends. The bus leaves from the bus stop located opposite the terminal exit.
  • By Taxi: The International Airport Taxi Company, official taxi operator for the Belfast International Airport, are available for hire 24 hours a day 7 days a week outside the right hand door of the airport Exit lobby. Only taxis approved by Belfast International Airport are permitted to use the taxi rank. A list of sample fares is displayed in the exit hall of the terminal building. Getting from the airport to the City

  • By Bus: The Airport Express Bus Service (Service 600) operates every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 40 minutes on Sunday from outside the airport to the Belfast Europa Bus Centre adjacent to the Europa Hotel, in the heart of the city. The service, Airport Express 600, operates between 05.45am and 21.15pm.
  • By Tain: When travelling to the airport by train, you'll want to disembark at Sydenham train station. Translink operates a rail service (6.00am - 11.00pm) Monday - Saturday to Central and Victoria Street Stations every 20 minutes. The service is hourly on Sundays (9.00am - 10.00pm). Connections are available from Central Station to the rest of the rail network in Northen Ireland and the Irish Republic. A shuttle bus service operates between the airport terminal and the rail halt at Sydenham. Please got to the infomration desk and ask for the service. You'll be instructed to wait by the taxi rank where the shuttle bus will collect you.

  • By Taxi: Approved taxis operate from the Airport taxi rank outside the terminal building. Wheel-chair accessible taxis are available. The approx cost of a taxi to Belfast City Centre from Belfast City Airport with the approved taix provider is £10.00 (including £2.00 surchagre). All fares are subject to a £2 surcharge. By Sea: Belfast is easily accessed by sea crossing from Scotland and England by high speed catamaran or by traditional ferry.

By Rail: The main rail stations in the city centre are Great Victoria Street and Central station. Cross-border services depart from and arrive at Central Station. The closest station to the University is Botanic Station which is a 10 minute walk away from the main campus. For information on train services please visit: www.translink.co.uk.

By Bus: Ulsterbus service operate throughout Northern Ireland. Services arrive and depart from the Europa Bus Station and the Laganside Buscentre. The University is well serviced by the Belfast Metro buses and timetables can be accessed at: www.translink.co.uk or Tel: +44 (0) 28 90 666630
